Following the launch of my article writing service, I thought it was a good time to share my top article writing tips with you.
With all the upheaval and buzz about the Google changes with the so called farmer update, how should you make sure your article marketing remains as effective as it was in the past?
The good news is many of us have already been producing content like this for some time. However here is my four point article marketing strategy to make sure you succeed.
Article marketing tips – The anatomy of an effective article and what to do with it.
1. The article:
You can write your own, or get one written using a good article writing service.
Length - At least 400 words but no longer than 700 words. This ensures maximum quality score from Google, and your reader will get as far as your all important link.
Keyword density - 1 to 1.5%. (Put your keyword in title, plus first, and last, paragraph is usually sufficient though.)
Error free - No spelling or grammar mistakes. If you are not writing in your native language or find this difficult get it proof read.
Quality – Make it an enjoyable for your reader, give them a reason to click our link to read more.
Unique – It goes without saying it should be your own words and not copied, however you should make sure you post unique versions wherever you post.
2. Distribution:
Post your article onto your site first. Then rewrite it and post this unique version to a top directory. I suggest ezinearticles.com or streetarticles.com.
TIP: A fast way to rewrite your article is to split it into a series of sub headings. Then without reference to your original, write the content in a unique way. Imagine you are explaining each point to a friend over a cup of coffee. This also ensures your article reads naturally due to this conversational tone. Not referring to the original will naturally lead to a unique version every time.
You can also use a good article spinner, I recommend the aptly named “The Best Spinner“, an article spinner if used correctly can produce a good original article from your seed article at the press of a button. There are some great free videos available at thebestspinner.com if you need more information on article spinning.
3. Build some Back-Links:
Once your article is approved then build links to your page and the article.
Start with social bookmarking and web 2.0 sites like Twitter, digg , facebook, and others. Here is a list of some of the better ones.

Another top tip is to join a site called amplify. Once you have set up your account you can post links to many sites, including all the twitter accounts you may have, with the click of a button, and its free.
Now on to other sites and blogs.
Most people allow comments on their blogs and if you can find blogs relevant to yours that you can comment on, it will build up your link juice quite quickly. These are the searches that you would put into http://www.Google.com:
site:.com inurl:blog + “post a comment” + your niche
site:.org inurl:blog + “post a comment” + your niche
site:.net inurl:blog + “post a comment” + your niche
site:.info inurl:blog + “post a comment” + your niche
What these URL’s are searching for is pages with “post a comment” on sites within that specific domain category (.com, .org, .net, .info) that are also in relation to the topic of your niche.
TIP: You could get crafty here and try different domain extensions (.biz, .ca, etc) to yield a wider range of relevant blogs.
Once you find a blog within the Google search results, you want to post a comment on one of the pages/posts that allow comments.
Step 2: Add your comments with care
The next step in the process is to add a comment to the blog that will link to your site. The key to a successful comment is to offer something that is relevant, engaging and helpful. Link dropping through a spammy comment will not work as most comments go through a moderation process before they are approved (as they do on your site as well).
Let’s say the blog post was about “marketing on clickbank”. You just so happen to have a page on your website that is relevant to this.
You would then want to make a comment that is relevant to the post. Leave your domain name within the “Website URL” as well as within the content.
—————
Name: Your Name
Website: Your website link to our page
Comment: I absolutely love your post about the proper techniques to market on clickbank. Over the years I have found that people have put too much emphasis on gravity and how much the commission is versus how relevant the product is to your content. I mean, that is what converts right.
The formula that I have found works best is aiming for a product that pays over $10 (min) commission, has a quality website (you will want to verify this first) and that has over 10 gravity…this indicates that some people are selling it. Don’t fret about the product, understand your niche and deliver them the most relevant Clickbank product.
Cheers,
Your Name
Step 3: Adding your blog link to authoritative sites
Google views authority like education and government sites as highly valuable (in terms of search rankings). They also have the underlying belief that if you have back-links coming from education and government portals, blogs, or websites, your website must carry a high importance too.
site:.gov inurl:blog + “post a comment” + your niche
You can do the exact same thing on education blogs as you did with your other blogs in the last step. Find relevant blogs with the .edu or .gov domain extension and post comments on them, dropping a link to your URL.
4. More Articles:
Take your seed article and rewrite it four more times. Submit it to four of the directories below.
It is important that you submit articles to high Page Rank, “Do Follow” Article Directories:
“Do Follow” means that the article directories allow spiders to “follow” their links. This is required for it to count as a back-link and only certain article directories offer this. For instance, articlesbase.com doesn’t allow them whereas ezinearticles.com and streetarticles.com do allow them.
Here is a good list of article directories that you can submit your articles to and get back-links:
